Piet Oudolf is known for using grasses in combination with perennials, where colours and structures come together. Piet used different types of perennials, which create a different look in every season. Next to the flowers, seeds, leaf structures and plant residues are important in a design of Piet. In Park of Dutch Dreams, Piet has combined plants which behave well in relation to each other.
The numbers in the plant map show where the different plants are planted in the park. The numbering is divided into three groups, namely large groups (black), small groups (white) and a matrix planting style (orange). The large groups consist more than 15 plants from one species, the small group 3 to 5 and by the matrix style different species are combined in an area to create a natural planting style.
